In the Hindu tradition, Brahmā is the creative principle of the Universe, part of the Trimūrti, alongside Viṣṇu (“Vishnu”) and Śiva (“Shiva”). He symbolizes the intelligence that brings order to chaos and gives form to existence.
With four faces, Brahmā gazes in all directions, reminding us that creation is complete and infinite. These faces also represent the four Vedas, the foundational scriptures of Vedic wisdom.
Creation is not only a cosmic act: every thought, word, and action is an act of creation. Through the practice of Yoga, we cultivate awareness and intention, becoming co-creators of our own lives and bringing greater harmony, peace, and growth into our experience.
In essence, Brahmā is an expression of Brahman, the universal consciousness that permeates all things. Brahman is also ātman, the individual soul. To recognize this is to perceive our unity with the Universe, both within and beyond ourselves.
